Here they are at last: pages 17 and 18.
I know I said back in July that these pages shouldn’t take very long. Turns out I was pretty wrong about that. There are multiple reasons why: one of them involved moving upstate, but you can probably see the biggest one is right there in the middle of the frame. The map.
When I started work on these pages, I had already drawn a much simpler map that only showed general geography areography. The plan was to just add a bit more detail, drop it into this page, and be done with it before I had to start moving. But quickly I realized that the map was taking up too much of the frame to be given so little detail. So I scrapped the first map and started a new one. This ate into a lot of my time and, before I knew it, my moving day crept up on me and I had to put the page on hold for a while. But now that it’s done, the remaining pages are more straightforward and should go much smoother.
As an aside, we also decided to make a few changes some of the past pages. It’s mostly just tweaks to the dialogue, but there is one artistic change that had been bothering me for quite a while. I will point it out in its own article. For now, enjoy the new pages and feel free to leave comments!
